In a few days, the 2006-2007 school year will commence. Tuesday, August 15, the 8:15 a.m. bell will signal the start of another year at BCHS. The summer has been filled with completing the various reports to finalize the 2005-2006 school year and preparing for the 2006-2007 year. Countless hours have been devoted to preparing the class schedule to fulfill the requests and requirements of each student of Boise City High School . Student schedules and enrollment packets may be reviewed and completed beginning tomorrow (Thursday) through Tuesday of next week. Office hours are 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. each day and the office will be open during the noon hour. Please make plans to participate in this activity so that all paperwork can be finalized before the first day of class.

One change in the schedule of the day will be the lunch period of 11:49-12:21 . Students will attend classes for four periods, then lunch, and back for the final three periods of the day. Class periods will be 50 minutes in length instead of 48 minutes; however, the school day will remain from 8:20 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Since the wellness class has been added to the school day for strengthening and conditioning of athletes, the athletic hour has been removed from the schedule. Practice for the sport that is in season will begin at 3:15 p.m. This change has been made to better facilitate the academic needs of the students as well as to provide additional social studies classes such as geography, Oklahoma History, etc. This will be a positive change that will require the cooperation of all individualsówe must continue to focus on the rigors required for successful academic performance and achievement.

I look forward to visiting with each of you during the next few daysóplease contact me if a different time will be necessary for you to complete the enrollment process.
