Celiac disease is an intolerance to wheat, rye, oats, spelt, or barley. The intolerance is actually to the gluten in those grains. Celiac causes gut problems along with other aliments too numerous to list.
There are about 10 million people in the U.S. that have celiac disease. We have a family member that has celiac and we have found that many processed foods have gluten in them under the guise of some other name. Restaurants use lots of spices and processed foods with gluten so it is very difficult to eat out.
If you know someone or have celiac yourself, let me know. I can hook you up so that you can share information and encouragement. Don't fight this alone. Get back to basics with knowledge. The source used is www. mercola. com (July 18, 2OO6 issue)
