Boise City Native Participates in The New Century Farmer Conference
Johnston, Ia.- Devin Brakhage, of Boise City, has attended the Ninth Annual New Century Farmer Conference at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Johnston, Iowa campus July 11-15. Brakhage of Boise City is the son of Rick and Lynna Brakhage and a student at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University, majoring in Agriculture Business and Economics . The New Century Farmer Conference is sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., and RaboBank, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation, and offers an opportunity for future farmers to learn about the latest in agricultural technology and opportunities. “The New Century Farmer Program was a very valuable experience,” said Brakhage. “I gained a lot of knowledge in many areas of agriculture.” Accepted applicants, age 19-22, were chosen by a committee including Pioneer sales representatives, Pioneer customers and past New Century Farmers. Students selected for the conference represent 16 states and varying agricultural backgrounds. All plan careers in production agriculture. Boise City News |
