Park Authority takes Heppard bid
The Cimarron Industrial Authority Board, opened two bids and a refusal of bid on the Milo Plant at the City's southeast side.
The winning bid, of $250 per month, was made by Panel Smiths, of Woodland park, Colo. the company, which builds insulated housing panels, is owned by David “Butch” Heppard, formerly of Cimarron County.
The board made the decision to turn down a higher bid of $305 from Jesse Bill James.
Chairman Joe Berry explained that the board hoped that by taking the lower bid the county might gain jobs.
Kimberly Studios, owned by Jeff and Kim Gibson of rural Cimarron County, respectfully declined a chance at bidding for the facility to place their art framing business. In her letter Mrs. Gibson explained that they had decided against bidding and using the money saved as a financial cushion.
