“BOISE CITY HIGH SCHOOL is reaching beyond the basics…ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE is the goal in 2006!” will be the theme of the 2005-2006 school year scheduled to begin August 11. The new look of the high school with the replacement of the windows and carpeting has certainly changed the looks of the school and countless repairs and revisions have been made to the classrooms. Changes have also been made to the curriculum of BCHS with the addition of several classes to the schedule.
Student schedules have been mailed and I would encourage the students and parents to review the schedule and contact me if there are questions or concerns. Enrollment will be held next Tuesday (August 2) in the Wildcat Pride meeting room. The first session will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the second session is slated for 7:15 p.m. Please attend one of these sessions to complete the necessary procedures and paperwork for enrollment in the 2005-2006 school year. If attendance is not possible, please come by the office to receive an enrollment packet. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. The office is also open during the noon hour.
Individuals interested in substitute teaching for Boise City Schools are asked to contact this office so that a packet of information may be sent to you. Please call (580) 544-3111 before August 10. Substitutes are very important to the school to keep the continuity of the learning process in place in the absence of the teacher.
A new project of this office will be a monthly newsletter entitled “WILDCAT PRIDE” that will be sent to parents and copies will be available in community businesses for the public. The newsletter will highlight the academic classrooms and extracurricular activities of BCHS. The first newsletter will be available near the end of this week.
New information will soon be available on the school's website—www.boisecity.k12.ok.us. Please check this site occasionally for the latest in news from Boise City Schools.
I am looking forward to a successful year at BCHS as the staff and students work together to achieve ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE!
