Former sheriff makes citizens arrest by C.F. David Former Cimarron County Sheriff Bob White made a citizens arrest on July 1, when he caught two teens breaking into his childhood home southeast of Boise City. According to Cimarron County Sheriff Keith Borth, Richard Neatherlin, and Randy Tomberlin, both 18, were taken into custody and charged with concealing stolen property, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. “They also had taken a pellet gun and a cast replica pistol that could've gotten them killed if they'd pulled them in the dark,” Borth added. Borth said that White had noticed items had been disappearing from the property and had begun watching, hoping to catch trespassers. “He got lucky and was watching at the right time,” Borth said. When asked if these arrests might clear other rural thefts, Borth admitted he wasn't sure but that the possibility was being investigated. The Sheriff's Office is also investigating an unrelated theft of saddles, tack and a Skil Saw, taken from a barn south of the city. Boise City News |
