Collision with antelope kills Cimarron County cyclist

Roger Dale “Rocky” Cobb, 52, of Keyes was killed just before midnight on Sunday when the Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was riding collided with an antelope just west of Felt.
The accident was investigated by OHP Trooper Adrian Carillo,
According to Carillo's report, at about 11:40 p.m.Sunday night, Cobb was eastbound on Highway 56 some 12 miles west of Felt when the antelope crossed the roadway going northbound.
According to Carillo's report, Cobb hit the animal and laid the motorcycle on its right side. He and the cycle slid for 241 feet. The cycle traveled another thirty-one feet down the eastbound lane before coming to a stop.
Cobb, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to the Union County Hospital where he died of head injuries.
Carillo was assisted in his investigation by Cimarron County Deputy Derek Kincannon, the New Mexico State Police, and the Felt Fire Department.
