Separate accidents bring citations...

OHP Troopers Duane Johnson, left, and Boyd Perry right, investigate a traffic accident. This late-model Pontiac was overturned about four miles southeast of Boise City Wednesday afternoon. Johnson estimates the vehicle, which overturned at least four times, to have been traveling about 80 miles per hour when it left the road and rolled into a wheat field. The driver, Adriana Esparza, of Boise City, was taken by ambulance from the scene. She was ticketed for excessive speed and driving in a manner not reasonable and proper.

In a separate accident on Friday night, Victoria Willet, of Boise City, was westbound on Highway 56, just west of the county line, when she struck a cow. The collision destroyed her battery, extinguishing her lights, and turned the vehicle on the roadway. Willet escaped the vehicle, a black Ford Explorer, just before it was struck by a passing semi-tractor-trailer. Willet was ticketed for having expired license plates and no insurance.
