Early morning traffic accident injures one by C.F. David A traffic accident early Sunday morning resulted in the injury and hospitalization of the driver, Tonya Collins, 36 of Boise City . According to a preliminary report filed by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Adrian Carrillo. He was assisted by the Cimarron County Sheriff's Office. Collins was the driver of a 1997 Pontiac that overturned five and two-tenths miles west of Keyes. Carrillo's report reads that the weather was clear and the roadway dry. Collins, westbound on a rural road, lost control of the car when the surface changed from pavement to dirt. She then entered the south bar ditch. According to Carrillo's report, the vehicle overturned once and then went end-over-end. Collins, who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle. Her passenger, Lori Cain, 27, of Boise City was wearing her seat belt. Collins and Cain were transported by private vehicle to Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City . Collins was admitted with internal injuries, stabilized and transferred to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo , Texas . Cain refused treatment. Trooper Carrillo said that the investigation is on-going to determine if alcohol was a factor in the accident. No charges have been filed against Collins pending the results of the investigation Boise City News |
