A warrant has been issued for Justin Shane Yates, a former Cimarron Memorial Hospital employee.
According to court records, Yates, on or about Jan. 10, 2005, is alleged to have taken possession of two laptop computers, one battery and a CD burner owned by Cimarron Memorial Hospital and then fraudulently converted them to his own use. The total value of the property has been estimated at $3,254.
According to the records, Memorial Hospital CEO, while in route to the hospital from his home in Dumas, Texas, on Jan 10, saw Yates in his automobile traveling southbound between his (Yates) home in Stratford, Texas and Dumas, and hasn't seen him since.
According to Burrus, Yates was then listed by his wife as a missing person, but was later found by her near Corpus Christi, Texas with former acquaintances that Yates had known when he had worked on the carnival/circus circuits.
Burrus said that according to information given him, the computer equipment was supposedly in the trunk of Yates car when it was stolen in Austin, Texas.
If found guilty of the charges against him, Yates faces the possibility of a fine of up to $5,000 and a sentence of five years, or both.
