Council retains same look, with Sanders back as mayor
by C.F. David
The Boise City Council retained its
now familiar look with Ron Carey and Leroy Randolph being sworn as councilmen,
and Craig Sanders and Randolph remaining as Mayor and Vice-Mayor for two year
terms.
The council made quick work of their
short agenda.
They authorized Sanders to convey
ownership of a cemetery lot to Brian Alvarez, and accepted a proposal from
William K. Gauer to perform the annual audit for the price of $2,250 plus
expenses.
The council then had a brief
discussion before acting on and voting for a motion by Councilman ron Carey and
seconded by Councilman Tim Baird, to approve a payment to Cimarron County of
$40 thousand for dispatching services.
Moving into the works authority
portion of the meeting, the members accepted a proposal from William K. Gauer
to perform the annual audit for the price of $2,250 plus expenses.
The council then waived all but $100
on a water bill of $624.90. The large amount of water used was due to a leak
during the heavy winter storms.
City Manager Rod Avery told the
council that some cities have a policy for such matters.
Councilman Wayne Montgomery pointed
out that since this was a rare occurance, a policy probably wasn’t needed.
Then Councilman Leroy
Randolph suggested that each incident be decided by a case-by-case basis, the
council concurred.
