Its grants, A/C and water tower paint at Keyes City meeting

Council members present were Mayor Chris Townsley and Councilman Curtis Cayton.

EMS Director Willie Shelly reported that the Grant had been finalized for the fire Department.

He also reported that the Ambulance had made three runs in the past month and the air-conditioner was not working and needed to be repaired..

The Council approved Mayor Chris Townsley and City Clerk Linda Betts to attend the Oklahoma Municipal League conference.

The City of Keyes has received a grant to paint the water tower. The council approved contract with Cunningham Sandblasting & Painting Co. to do the work. Cost of the painting will be approximately $17,800, and the lettering will be $1,995. One side will say Keyes, Oklahoma and the other side of tower will say HOME OF THE PIRATES..

The City Council approved furnishing water for the swimming pool for the summer. They will furnish 100,000 gallons the first month and 50,000 per month through the summer at no cost to the pool.

A senior was selected to receive the scholarship given by the City of Keyes; Nolan Cobb was chosen.

Larry Taylor ask for Central air conditioning to be installed in House owned by the City of Keyes. Council approved getting it installed at a cost of $2100.00.

Council approved making a donation to the Alumni for the hamburger meal.

In new business Policeman Larry Taylor said he needed new radio; he submitted some prices to the Council..
