OPSU offers new non-credit online courses
In response to an increased interest in online, non-credit, career training courses, Oklahoma Panhandle State University's Adult Education department has partnered with Gatlin Education Services to provide programs in healthcare, business, construction technology, internet - design and technical, IT certifications and video game design and development.
These new non-credit courses are designed for individuals planning to switch career paths, those who want to obtain advanced training and certifications, or for those entering the job market who need specialized training. The courses are all open enrollment and self-paced, and students are paired with a personal instructor. Courses take an average of 90 days to complete and provide training for entry-level positions.
Recent information released by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission reports that many popular occupations are expected to experience significant growth including those in the areas of computer support, medical records and health information administration, paralegals, and pharmacy technicians.
Job seekers can be trained in these occupations by taking online courses offered through Oklahoma Panhandle State University via Gatlin Education Services. They offer certification programs in the fields mentioned above, as well as many other high interest areas.
Providing education on the web since 1994, Gatlin Education Services (GES) is the largest provider of asynchronous web-based, instructor-supported training to colleges and universities. GES open-enrollment programs are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations.
