OKLAHOMA CAPITOL --- The Oklahoma Department of Human Services has named Alejo Peña director of Human Services Centers in Texas , Beaver and Cimarron counties. "We are proud to have Mr. Peña join our management team and look forward to working with him in his new role," said Brenda Hawkins, OKDHS Area I director. Peña began with OKDHS in January 2003 as a social services specialist in Texas County. In May 2003, he began working in Adult Protective Services half time, while continuing his Family Support caseload. In November 2004, Peña was assigned full-time duty to Adult Protective Services for the panhandle counties. "I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet everyone and to work as an Area I County Director," said Peña.
Peña received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas. He and his wife, Nora, have one daughter and three sons. Peña serves on the Board of Directors of the Plains Chapter Red Cross and is a member of the Texas County Community Emergency Response Team.
