Tri-County Electric Launches User-Friendly Bill Format

Cooperative redesigned its bill in response to requests from members

HOOKER-Tri-County Electric Cooperative unveiled today a more user-friendly design for its electric bills. The new format provides more information about electricity usage, payment history, and the various components of their bill, such as energy costs and government taxes and fees. The improved design will be introduced over the next several weeks as the cooperative goes through its regular schedule of billing cycles.

Tri-County Electric Manager of Customer Service Roy Smothermon said the change was made in response to member requests.

“The cooperative regularly conducts member surveys, and is continuously looking for ways to enhance the quality of our customer service and increase member satisfaction,” said Smothermon. “Our members told us that they wanted a more informative bill that was still easy to read. We heard them, and designed this new bill format to meet that expectation.”

A sample layout, along with information on each part of the bill, is available on the cooperative's Web site,, in the November issue of the Tri-County Electric Newsletter located inside Oklahoma Living magazine, or at Tri-County Electric headquarters in Hooker, Okla.
