Boise City Cross-Country places 7th at Regionals boys qualify for state Coach Darla Bocock Chisholm, Oct. 16. Girls, two mile run: Victoria Willett, 15:43, placing 58th. Denisse Hernandez, 16:37, placing 76th. Boys, three and one-tenth miles: Dustin Kincannon 19:01, placing 15th. Tavis Hallmark, 19:53, placing 36th. Reuben Bocock, 20:29, placing 42nd. Jose Rodriguez, 20:53, placing 51st. Uriel Rodriguez, 23:05, placing 71st. Destry Elms, 24:25, 76th. The team placed seventh with a total of 173 points. We traveled to Chisholm to make a berth for the state meet. Our ladies ran very well; but were unfortunately unable to qualify. Victoria finished her season with a good solid race and Denisse having missed four weeks of competition due to a stress fracture ran very gutsy for the Lady ‘Cats; excellent job ladies! The boys, running with a full team, qualified as a team for the state meet this weekend at Shawnee, finishing seventh out of nine teams competing, and only nine points out of sixth place. Dustin Kincannon lead the team, running his best race this season, and thirty seconds faster than last year. The next three of our team were still struggling with injuries but laced up their shoes and went out to do what had to be done to qualify. Tavis and Jose were fighting knee injuries, and Reuben ran with a stress fracture that had kept him out for the last four weeks. What they did was amazing. Uriel and Destry ran extremely well and rounded out our top six. Overall it was a good day. If you see any of these gentlemen tell them good job and wish them luck for the weekend; they deserve it!
