Friday, October 13, marks the end of the first nine weeks of the 2006-2007 school year. 9-weeks testing will begin Thursday for the hours of 1, 3, 5, and 7; and Friday will feature testing of the hours of 2, 4, and 6. Report cards will be available at Parent/Teacher Conference on Tuesday, October 24, from 3:15 - 6 p.m. or Thursday, October 26, from 5-8 p.m.
Next week will be Teen Read Week at the high school library with a theme of “Born to Read”. Yesterday the members of Student Council attended the District meeting in Laverne.
The academic bowl team will again be in competition this weekend in a Red Carpet Meet at Felt. This past weekend, the team placed 2 nd in a Red Carpet meet hosted by Texhoma. District seeding will be on Monday, October 23 in preparation for regional competition on Saturday, November 11. Boise City will be hosting this meet.
The Wildcat football team will be in action Friday night as they travel to Forgan. Saturday, cross-country athletes will compete at the regional meet and several students will audition for the Western Oklahoma Director's Honor Choir.
One major focus for this office this week is the completion and submission of the 2006-2007 Application for Accreditation report to the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Research is also being compiled to complete reports in preparation for a High Schools That Work Technical Review Visit in November.
