The day and time to watch is Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 9 a.m. That's when 41 tracts of Cimarron County land come up for auction at the annual School Land Auction.
All eyes in the county will be on the new Fairgrounds building watching for a repeat of last year's fireworks when James Parker, and Roy Young swooped in and took just over 22 thousand acres on a five year lease totaling just over $260 thousand.
The land was acquired by Parker and Young for a ranch owned by Samuel Parker, James Parker's son, with the elder Parker acting as a consultant..
The Boise City News contacted James Parker's attorney of record Stan Manske and asked if Parker would be a force to be reckoned with at this year's auction.
Manske responded that he didn't expect Parker to be in attendance at the auction.
Manske, when asked if rumors to the effect that Parker had lost financial backing and that as a result, had his deeded land up for sale, Manske answered that those rumors were unfounded.
