Cimarron Memorial Hospital to host public meeting Oct. 17 Board replaces Shields with Conner on Oct. 11 by C.F. David
The meeting will be with officials to discuss a Federal Grant through the Kellogg Foundation. Clinic Manager, Tammy Avent said that the community needs to turn out in force to support the clinic's application. “They need to know the clinic and the hospital has community...even county... support,” Avent said. The grant, if the clinic were to receive it could mean as much as $650 thousand pumped into the facility. The clinic could and would still funnel patients into the hospital when that type of care is needed. Avent also explained that through the grant the foundation would help in physician recruitment. The grant would allow for even more indigent care, and would continue with self-pay, Medicaid, and Medicare and insurance coverage.
